ISO 31000 / ISO31000 Process and Contents
The process employed within ISO 31000 will be focused upon commonly accepted principles, such as the meeting of objectives, and the importance of risk communication. The standard will not be certifiable (third party) but will outline general principles and guidelines. It is expected that the standard itself will:
- stress commitment to digigent risk management
- encourage priority setting
- explain the principle that risk management should itself create value
- stress the importance of context
- address the sometimes confusing issue of risk terminology
Overall, the standard will adopt the viewpoint that risk management is integral with the organizations structures, responsibilities, and objectives.
